I am in love! Ok, maybe it is lust, but I’ve got it bad!
It has been so lonely lately. As the Apple cult clamor for their iPads, I have been sulking and impatiently waiting for something to take my breath away.
But this working woman has been on the look out for an ultra portable option that checks the boxes of both form and functionality. Prospects during the back-to-school buying season were non-existent. Disappointed, I flew back to Europe from the US empty handed.
This past weekend, I reached an all-time low and walked into an Apple store. My Apple resistance was surprisingly restored to full strength during the visit. With today’s surprise announcement and introduction of the Inspiron Duo by Dell on stage at an Intel conference, I can now happily wait until Christmas.
I haven’t been this excited about a device, since T-Mobile released the original Android phone here in the Netherlands on February 1, 2009. Maybe, as on that day, I will be one of only two people lining up to get my hands on this Dell Duo, but I seriously doubt it.
Dearest Dell, my days of calling you mediocre and boring are over, finished! You never looked so good. On behalf of multitasking women everywhere, who want to slip a slate in their bag and actually use it, with a real keyboard, to get stuff done on the go; to conquer the world or at least a backlog of work, you are so incredibly sexy!
